all seven billion of humans on earth are living their lives right now
they’re sleeping and laughing and having sex and falling in love and crying and seeing wonderful things or awful ones and making new friends and getting sick and eating and walking and learning and breathing and dying they all have as complex lives as you do
So at my High School, every year the teachers get together and do this thing called a Detention Debut. Basically they just do skits, sing songs, the science teachers do some pretty cool experiments. They do this to raise money for scholarships.
This year they all sang a song in tribute to my former French Teacher. Madame has been fighting cancer for about a year or two. Things had been getting worse. And unfortunately she died yesterday. I believe this video was taken three weeks ago. She’s the one who walks up on stage at the end.
Last time I saw her was a week ago I think, she was shopping with her husband at the grocery store I work at. I didn’t even say hi to her.
She was a great teacher! And one of the best people I will ever know.
She inspired, encouraged and loved all her students.
